The British magazine Time Out has placed Turkey’s Lycian Way at the top of its list of the “World’s Most Beautiful Hiking Trails.” Famous for its ancient cities, mountain landscapes and turquoise bays, the iconic route has once again captured global attention.
The magazine describes the Lycian Way as “a unique experience with paths winding through ancient ruins, endless mountain views and crystal-clear lagoons.” Stretching approximately 540 kilometers from Antalya to Fethiye, the route passes major landmarks such as Patara, Xanthos, Olympos, Kayaköy, Faralya and Kabak Bay.
Experts highlight autumn as the best season to hike the trail. Weather conditions between September and November are more favorable and also support sustainable tourism in the region.
The international recognition of the Lycian Way further increases interest in Antalya’s natural and cultural heritage, strengthening the region’s potential for year-round tourism.
