At the September meeting of Kemer Municipality Council, the city’s participation in the 2025-2026 tourism fairs and the VisitKemer project were discussed, highlighting the importance of digital marketing in tourism.
Kemer Municipality Tourism Officer and Council Member Cansın Efir stated that the VisitKemer project has reached 15 million potential views in one year, with 60% of the audience abroad. “Ten years ago, tourists made only 10% of their purchases online. Today, this figure exceeds 35%. We must understand the value of online marketing,” Efir emphasized.
The VisitKemer project, revived with the support of the Kemer District Governorship and local NGOs, partnered with a corporate company to actively promote the city online. The project has been particularly effective in the UK, Poland, Germany, and Latvia; access to Russia is limited due to sanctions and conflict.
Additionally, 7 international bloggers (from Germany, Russia, and Turkey) were invited to Kemer this year, and VisitKemer advertisements were published in one of Germany’s leading tourism magazines, reaching 120,000 readers.
Despite a 2.5% decrease in tourists arriving at Antalya Airport compared to last year, tourist numbers in Kemer remain stable. This year, the city welcomed 2,335,000 tourists, with 31% Turkish, 29% Russian, and the remainder from Germany, the UK, Poland, and Ukraine.
Kemer Mayor Necati Topaloğlu stressed the importance of digital promotion: “It is no longer enough to attend fairs. Direct engagement with agencies and online marketing are key to guiding tourists to Kemer.”
