Important statements were made at the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) February Assembly Meeting, which was held online last week.
Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) President Davut Çetin said, “This year Antalya tourism has a vital value for both our economy and Turkey's economy. There will be recovery in the German and UK markets. We will also make more efforts for markets like Israel.”
Talking about the agenda as well as the activities, Davut Çetin said, “I hope we will not see any negative developments in Russia and Ukraine. This year, Antalya tourism carries a vital value for both our economy and Turkey's economy.
Touching on the tension between Russia and Ukraine, ATSO President Davut Çetin said, “Unfortunately, the tension has increased in Ukraine. Turkey has taken a balanced position in Ukraine so far, we expect this policy to be maintained. I hope that there will be no conflict and that the sanctions against Russia will not affect Turkey as well. Today, the price of oil, the value of the Russian currency ruble, the price of wheat, the price of natural gas have not changed too much. But even if there is no conflict, economic sanctions will be imposed on Russia. Russia is our first market in tourism and our second market in exports. In fact, it is also indirectly our first market in exports. Ukraine was our third market in both exports and tourism, and even the second country last year. "We pray that there will be no war," he said.
